Losing teeth can change your life in a variety of different ways. The loss of teeth will absolutely have an initial impact on your overall dental health, but continuing to live without a complete smile can severely impact your dental health in the future as well. In addition to the cost it will have on your health, losing teeth will also alter your appearance and it will make things like eating and speaking much more challenging. In order to resolve these issues, it is imperative that you discuss your options in terms of dental restoration with a specialist as soon as you can. One of the more popular options available on the market today includes dental implants, and if you happen to be looking into Akron dental implants, then we here at Akron Area Oral, Maxillofacial & Facial Surgery Center can help provide you with the initial evaluation as well as with the procedure itself.

Losing teeth can be incredibly difficult and it can happen for a number of different reasons. Some people don’t lose teeth until they are considerably older and their dental health has weakened considerably. In other cases, individuals may lose teeth due to advanced tooth decay, gum disease, or even oral injury. All of these issues will create a certain sense of dental trauma, and they will continue to damage your dental health if you do not have these issues resolved as well as if you do not replace the missing teeth that you have lost as a result. As soon as you lose teeth, whether they have fallen out on their own or they have been removed, it is imperative that you discuss your options with your dentist in terms of replacing these teeth. Here at Akron Area Oral, Maxillofacial & Facial Surgery Center you can speak with our oral surgeon and discuss options such as Akron dental implants. Dental implants are known for looking and feeling more like real teeth than any other method, plus they can provide you with the same amount of security and strength as natural teeth as well. In order for you to be eligible for implants, you will first need to have an oral surgeon thoroughly examine the state of your dental health and determine whether you are able to support implants. Since this procedure involves intensive surgery, there may be additional procedures that you need to have completed before hand.

Akron dental implants can be crafted in a way that is completely unique to you and your needs. Dental implants are created in order to look as natural as possible, and they can also be designed in order to match any remaining teeth that you have so that you have a completely seamless smile as a result. Before you learn more about dental implants, it is always best to schedule an appointment with an oral surgeon and learn more about the procedure as well as your eligibility for it. If you would like to learn more about dental implants and you would like to book an appointment, please call us here at Akron Area Oral, Maxillofacial & Facial Surgery Center and get the care you need.

At our practice, we have a complete team of experienced dental implant dentists. Our dentist will not only focus on enhancing the look of the dental implants, but also will work to eliminate dental issues that can cause discomfort or interfere with proper functioning of the jaw and teeth. Our maxillofacial surgeons perform a wide number of surgeries to treat minor to major irregularities. At our practice, we can determine the cause of TMJ problems. TMJ can cause earaches, headaches, as well as a limited ability for the patient to open his or her mouth. The patient may also have clicking all Grading sounds in the jaw joint. When a patient has TMJ, we will first try to provide them with non-surgical treatment. If this is not the case, our surgical treatment can either be arthroscopically performed, or we can use a direct surgical approach. Our oral surgeon can also perform bone grafts so that patients are able to become excellent candidates to get dental implants. On average, a bone graft can make a person a good candidate for dental implant surgery three to six months after the bone graft is performed. Akron Cosmetic Surgeon

Our Akron cosmetic surgeon is the one to turn to when you need to replace one or more missing teeth. In addition to providing dental implants, done with the utmost of expertise, we at Akron Area Oral, Maxillofacial, & Facial Surgery Center also offer implant supported dentures, which come in extremely handy when you need to replace all of the teeth on one jaw, especially the lower one.

Why choose our Akron cosmetic surgeon for implants? The placement of the post for a dental implant is a surgical procedure, and you most certainly do not want to trust that delicate work to anyone who is not a full-time surgeon with the experience in doing implants to assure that you will get the results you want, without undue pain or complications. There are two major parts to a dental implant. The first is that surgical placement of the cylindrical titanium post that acts as a replacement for your tooth’s root. Old-fashioned dentures and bridges only addressed the surface part of the tooth, but an implant gives you a strong and natural restoration that is durable, prevents gum and bone tissue from atrophying, and retains your normal facial contours.

Over several months, your jaw bone will grow around the post put in by our Akron cosmetic surgeon and fuse with it. At that point, you have a reliable bond. If you are replacing just one tooth or more than one that are not next to each other, a tooth-colored crown is then cemented to the top of the post and that completes the implant. You are left with a new tooth that looks, feels, and even acts like a natural one. You can chew, even hard foods. You can talk and laugh, floss between the implant and your other teeth, and you won’t have any concerns.

If, however, you are replacing several consecutive teeth or all of the teeth on your jaw, several posts can be used as a base for a denture that will then be fastened to the posts, either with snaps or by screw retainment. Unlike traditional dentures, you won’t have to use any messy adhesive. Best of all, your dentures done by our Akron cosmetic surgeon won’t slide when you eat or speak. You will feel very natural when you wear them.
